If you are interested in receiving a list of licensed/registered child care providers in Oakland County, fill out the form below and click the Submit button.  We will email, mail or fax this referral to you as soon as possible.  

Your referral packet will contain a list of child care providers generated by our database according to the selection criteria indicated in your request.  You will be provided with the provider's city, type of care (family, group,  or center) and days/times care is provided.  You will also receive a summary of the state's licensing requirements

Confidentiality Policy

It is the policy of the Oakland County Child Care Council to keep all personal information shared by clients confidential. All information gathered is for statistical purposes, and no information is shared with outside parties. Personal information is defined as name, address, phone number, or fax number and email address.

Resource and Referral Complaint Policy

The Oakland County Child Care Council strives to provide the best resource and referral service possible. We are committed to resolving service complaints to the best of our ability, as well as guiding clients through the Licensing Complaint process should a concern about a child care provider arise.

Licensing Complaint: Client/Parent has a concern or complaint about the health, safety or quality of a child care provider.

Process:

  1. Refer to Child and Adult Day Care Licensing at 866-856-0126 or online at www.mi.gov/dhs, Licensing Complaints.
  2. Explain that the complainant does not have to give any identifying information and that the complaint will be investigated even if it is filed anonymously. If identifying information is provided the investigator may call for clarification or more information.
  3. Explain that an Investigation Report will be available online or through a Freedom of Information Act request within 90 days.
  4. FOIA Request may be completed online at www.mi.gov/dhs, by fax 517-335-6121 or by writing the Department of Human Services at the Office of Children and Adult Day Care Licensing 7109 W. Saginaw, PO Box 30650, Lansing, MI. 48909
  5. FOIA Requests are not confidential and may require a minimal fee.
  6. Explain that the Oakland County Child Care Council does not investigate or follow-up on ANY provider complaints.

Service Complaint: Client/Parent has a concern or complaint with the quality of service received from R&R Counselor.

Client with concern about service contacts the Executive Director via phone, fax or email. Executive Director verifies information received by complainant and documents concerns in writing. Executive Director addresses concern with appropriate staff and works toward resolution – shares results of investigation with complainant and works with complainant to meet his/her needs. Executive Director documents in writing all conversations with complainant and staff. Written documentation is kept on file.
