What type of person is best suited for E-Learning?

E-Learning requires the ability to read and comprehend written material, provide written responses to topic discussions and assignments, and some basic computer skills.

Will I need to type much in an E-Learning course?

Yes..

E-Learning requires you to provide type-written responses to topic discussions and assignments.

Do I need to purchase a textbook for E-Learning courses?

Our CDA Classes require a textbook, it is the same text for all 8 CDA classes. Our other online classes do not require that you purchase a textbook. Unless specified in the course description, your instructor will provide all the readings and resources required for the course.

Do I need to have a computer for the course?

You need to have available to you on a daily basis a computer with internet access to participate E-Learning courses.

Do I need to purchase any special software for the course?

No, usually there is no special software necessary to use a course however, you must have access to the internet to participate. We recommend you use the Mozilla Firefox internet browser. It’s free, safe, and can be easily downloaded by clicking in the link below.

Participation in E-Learning courses requires that you have the ability to view PDF’s and open Microsoft Word Documents. Adobe Acrobat allows you to view PDF’s and can be down loaded for free by clicking the link below

If you don’t have access to Microsoft Word you can download Open Office for free. You’ll be submitting assignments that must be compatible with Microsoft Word so it’s important that you have the right tools.

Will I need to attend any in-person class meetings?

No. All E-Learning courses are conducted entirely online.

Is this course easier than the same course delivered in the traditional face-to-face format?

No. Our E-Learning courses have been developed by seasoned Oakland 4C trainers to bring you the same high quality professional development we’ve always provided.
