Child Care Provider Services Free and Low Cost Professional Development Courses Whether you operate a small home business, take care of a relative's child or work in a large day care center, we have something to offer you. A selection of courses include: child development, caring for infants and toddlers, developing learning tools and teaching resources, planning learning activities for kids, working with children who have special needs, job duties of a child care administrator, and CPR and First Aid. Students can also earn college credit or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Michigan Child Care Futures Project classes are offered free of charge. Fees apply for other classes. Classes are held at various Oakland County locations. Spring 2008 Child Care Today Newsletter and Training Calendar (large file, may take a minute to download) Michigan Better Kid Care Information Technical Assistance and Consultations If you need assistance in becoming a licensed child care provider, we can give you advice in setting up and maintaining quality child care homes and centers. We offer counseling to CDA candidates, identify resources and lend an ear when you need support. Community Liaisons The Success By Six Community Liaisons provide assistance to child care providers by offering information on community resources, including parent education, child care resources, child growth and development, and community activities for families with young children. Our Community Liaisons have established groups in many Northern Oakland County cities and new groups are forming in Southern Oakland County communities. Share your challenges and successes. Internet access, copy machine, laminator, instructional videos and activities for kids while you work are available.
